And many osnaps, pan, zooms, and toggles (like ortho) can be executed with a single click of a cursor button without even having to move the cursor out of the area where you're working on the screen. Aug02:24 By Justin Doughty It’s that time of year again With the introduction of AutoCAD 2020, users are once again asking if the ribbon can be turned off and AutoCAD reverted to the Classic toolbars and menus. With a tablet, all of the most-used commands are executed with a single click. Solution: Re-add the tools to the Quick Access Toolbar and then export the settings for AutoCAD so that they can be imported if the tools disappear again. The Tablet menus and button assignments (hardly anybody uses the defaults - just about everybody who uses them at all has customized them) must be migrated manually from a previous version, every year when the new release comes out, in the same manner as manually migrating the Classic Workspace. Unfortunately, they have made it difficult (but not impossible) to continue using the Tablet menus. However, using a digitizing tablet with tablet menus and a sixteen-button cursor is, in turn, far more efficient than using the Ribbon. If each launch of AutoCAD shows the tools missing from the toolbar, see AutoCAD does not retain one or more of its workspace/settings upon relaunch. The Ribbon may in fact be somewhat more efficient for somebody who is not already very proficient with the old Classic pull-down menus, although the Ribbon takes up valuable screen space. Solution: Re-add the tools to the Quick Access Toolbar and then export the settings for AutoCAD so that they can be imported if the tools disappear again.
